What if touch and massage could be…

an avenue of pleasure,

an artistic endeavour,

and a source of personal revelation,

all at once?

If so, what would that look like?

And so we set out to reimagine touch and massage in the age of phone addiction and touch starvation.

We found ourselves deeply disenchanted with traditional avenues of touch and massage.

Not enough artistry,

not enough meaning,

not enough soul.

And so on…

Whether it’s empty industrial massage therapy or empty dating apps, the conditions and opportunities for meaningful touch are very limited these days.

There are specific reasons for this, both practical and philosophical, but a decade ago, we knew that a new form needed to be created to meet the increasing loneliness and touch-less-ness of the digital age.

So…

We began to incubate, experiment, and innovate something new…

…but altogether old and familiar.

Over a decade later, …after working on more than a thousand like-minded souls in small boutique fashion, we refined a process of discovery in which the most intimate landscapes people carry inside could be unlocked using a precise blend of meaningful conversation, long form touch and massage, and gentle integration.

This would eventually become The Knead System, which sets out to remove you from the digital shallows and introduce you to a carefully considered set of circumstances or “ecologies” designed to open you up to your deeper story.

Every part of our process is calibrated to remind you of your connection to “the sympathy of all things.” Screen life and social media often make us separate, fragmentary, and even adversarial. Deep touch does the opposite: it shows us all the ways in which we are deeply connected and oriented towards enlargement.

Our minds are critical and boundary-making. Touch on the other hand is relational and expansive. Phone and screen addiction means we get touched less and less and our nervous systems and brains are constantly on high alert, ticking ever faster.

Touch is the missing link…
